Statistics show that over 70% of young adults are walking away from their Christian faith during the college years.
Culture has proven that poor character and unwholesome conduct is on the rise and it will continue to increase unless we, as Christians, become intentional and consistent in influencing the mind and heart with wholesome ideas.

HOW IDEAS INFLUENCE THE MIND & HEART
MIND TO MIND
Influences are passed from mind to mind and inspire ideas that are inwardly digested in the thoughts of a person..
RIGHT OR WRONG
A person’s conscience determines if the ideas are retained and accepted or forgotten and rejected.
Then the will carries out the verdict of the conscience, regardless if it is a wholesome or unwholesome idea.
The repeated actions of the exercised will is the nature of a person that determines their future charater and conduct.
THE INFLUENCES OF EDUCATION
Did you know these fact about American educational history?
The 1647 School Law that was passed in Massachusetts, which required the teaching, reading and writing of scriptures to children in a school setting, was based on the Old Deluder Satan Act. This Act was put into place because it was common belief that Satan wanted to keep people in ignorance of the Scriptures, so that they would remain in bondage because they would lack true knowledge. This school law from 1647 was the beginning of what is today known as a public school and the main purpose was to teach children the Scriptures.
This belief was the start of the establishment of many Christian schools, colleges and universities that were founded in every colony in America, most of which are still open today.
In 1950s, the American Medical Association (AMA) in collaboration with public health officials began a push for a robust sex education that extended beyond the reproductive system. The AMA created a comprehensive five-part series called the “sex education series” which standardized the curricula taught in all public schools.
Then in two landmark decisions – Engel v. Vitale on June 25, 1962, and Abington School District v. Schempp on June 17, 1963 – the Supreme Court declared school-sponsored prayer and Bible readings unconstitutional.
That was the beginning of a decline in our culture and the intellectual knowledge of our citizens.
One of my most influential guides in education, Charlotte Mason had this to say about the influence of education:
“We should allow no separation to grow up between the intellectual and ‘spiritual’ life of children; but should teach them that the divine Spirit has constant access to their spirits, and is their continual helper in all the interests, duties and joys of life.”
